WEEK 3 - DAY 15

“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” - Luke 8:16

A lamp does not light itself and neither do we. Someone lights all lights, lamps and candles. First things first, we need to KNOW that Jesus has lit us and is the source of our light. Our light comes from an intimate relationship with Him and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

No amount of trying or striving will help us to shine - imagine a lamp trying to shine by itself, it would not would it. We shine because our source, Jesus, causes us to. We shine naturally when we are in relationship with the Father.

The one who lights the lamp also decides where to put
it and where they want it to shine. Jesus has put us somewhere; in a school, in a workplace, in a neighbourhood or community, next door to someone, on the bus next to

a stranger. Jesus is the source that enables us to shine in the place He has put us. He knows what He is doing, don’t second guess your place, embrace it and shine.

Holy Spirit, I love you. Thank you for your presence, thank you that your love and You joy overflow around me. Give me eyes to see whom You have placed around me today that I can love. Amen.

As you have prayed this prayer, pause and listen. Wait until you have a person in mind and demonstrate the love of God to that person today.
